Why gentler settings usually sound better
Aggressive denoising is the most common way to make a recording worse. Push the filter too hard and human speech starts to sound thin, watery or metallic, because the voice shares frequency ranges with the noise being removed. A recording with a little audible room tone almost always sounds more professional than one that has been scrubbed until the voice warbles.
The fix that beats any filter
No filter recovers detail that was never recorded. Moving the microphone closer to the speaker raises the voice relative to the room, which improves the signal-to-noise ratio at the source. Thirty seconds of microphone placement beats any amount of post-processing.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my voice sound strange after denoising?
That is the filter being too aggressive. Speech shares frequencies with background noise, so heavy attenuation removes parts of the voice too. Back the setting off until the voice sounds natural again.
Can it remove someone talking in the background?
No. Denoising targets steady, predictable noise. Another voice is neither, so it passes through the filter largely intact.
Is my recording uploaded to a server?
